Carbon Filter and 5 Micron Sediment Filter Cartridges insert for 4.5in x 10in housing, Fits any standard 4.5 x 10 housing.The carbon block filter consists of high-quality activated carbon. It is effective in reducing free chlorine, bad taste, odor, THM, organics, hazardous chemicals and more.
Depending on source water quality or flow rate, it needs to be replaced based upon usage with a rating of 60,000 gallons of water replace as follows:
- Rated for 60,000 gallons.
- 1 GPM replace every 6 months
- 2 GPM replace every 3 months
- 3 GPM replace every 10 weeks, 2 months
- 4 GPM replace every 7 weeks
- 8 GPM replace every 4 weeks, every month
Each filter is individually sealed to keep freshness. Fits models using standard 10 in. x 4.5 in. big blue whole-house water filters.
Often used before an RO Membrane to protect the membrane from Chlorine in the water. Chlorine in the water greatly reduces the RO Membrane service life.
Knocks out cloudiness, bad tastes and odors while removing removes 99% nominally of the chlorine in the water. This filter is also effective on organic compounds like herbicides and industrial solvents and other contaminants like trihalomethanes.

Activated Carbon Filter Cartridge is extruded and shaped by activated carbon fines. The active filter media material is mineral based with a polypropylene cover that insures no carbon fines are released into the stream while offering strong absorptivity.
