What is Optical Gel?
Optical Gel is a multi-sensory bird deterrent designed to keep birds away from treated areas by targeting their sight, smell, and touch. The gel contains natural ingredients like citronella and peppermint oils, which emit odors birds dislike, while appearing to birds as fire or smoke, making them avoid landing near it. Its sticky texture adds another layer of deterrence if birds attempt to land.
How does it work?
1. Sight - Dishes appear to be extremely detrimental to their safety (akin to fire or smoke) and avoid immediately
2. Smell - They can't stand the citronella and peppermint oil smell which to us is pleasant.
3. Touch -They avoid sticky material (in the unlikely event they touch it).
Fast, Easy Installation
No tools needed. Simply clean the surface with an enzyme cleaner like Dissolve-It, remove the dish cover, and attach using silicone, magnets, or zip ties. Its low-profile 2.5" wide by 0.25" tall dishes stay effective for up to 2–4 years. Designed to blend in with any structure.
